The Pawtucket and Providence FSC has hosted The Providence Open since 1968. The competition features critiques for IJS skaters who plan on entering the New England Regional Championships as well as 6.0 events. Additionally, The Providence Open features the Little New England Championships, which is available to skaters from Pre-juvenile level and below. Several years ago, to honor one of our longtime members, the club added the Herb Kaplan Fourteen Step Dance Competition. Over the years, a variety of rinks within the Providence area have been home to the competition. More recently, the Open has settled into Providence College’s Schneider Arena and is held the weekend after Labor Day.
This year marks the 51st year of the Providence Open.
